Game 9 – The Boundary Rider

Game Overview

🏆 Game Winner: The team with the most points at the end wins.

  • Points are scored by hitting designated zones and taking wickets.

Equipment

  • 2 sets of wickets

  • 1 scoreboard

  • Cricket balls

  • 6 small cones (3 pairs of different colors for zone identification)

Time Required

45–90 minutes

Participants

  • 2 players: 1v1 (2 innings)

  • 3 players: 1v1v1 (3 innings)

  • 4 players: 2v2 (2 innings)

  • 5 players: 2v1v2 (3 innings)

  • 6 players: 2v2v2 (3 innings)
    Max 6 players per net.

Batting

  • Change ends every 4 balls.

  • 1 point for hitting the nominated zone.

  • 1 point for hitting all 4 zones in a 4-ball set.

  • Missed calls (“yes”/“no”) = automatic miss.

Bowling

  • 2 points per wicket.

  • -1 point for wide/no-ball.

  • Bowler’s team earns 1 point if batter misses all 4 zones.

  • Wicket counts only if appeal is made.

Fielding

  • Plot the 3 scoring zones using the 6 cones (3 pairs of different colors). Players or coach can choose placement, but zones must stay fixed for the innings.

  • “27 slips” are in play—just a fun tradition, no extra setup needed.

Special Rules

  • No free hits or bouncers.

  • Controversial balls are replayed.

  • Dot balls reset after a wicket and carry into the next 4-ball batting set.

  • After 3 consecutive hits, call Pressure Ball on Bowlers.

  • After 3 consecutive misses, call Pressure Ball on Batters.

  • Both teams start at 15 points.
