Game 27 – The Fizzer

Game Overview

🏆 Game Winner: The team with the most points after the allocated time wins.

  • Batters earn points for surviving 5 minutes; bowlers earn points for dismissing them.

Equipment

  • 2 sets of wickets

  • 1 scoreboard

  • Cricket balls

  • 5 small cones (inner-ring fielders)

  • 1 tall cone (boundary fielders)

Time Required

45–90 minutes

Participants

  • 2 players: 1v1 (2 innings)

  • 3 players: 1v1v1 (3 innings)

  • 4 players: 2v2 (2 innings)

  • 5 players: 2v1v2 (3 innings)

  • 6 players: 2v2v2 (3 innings)
    Max 6 players per net.

Batting

  • Start with 2 wickets in hand.

  • 1 point for batting successfully for 5 minutes without being dismissed.

  • Change ends every 4 balls.

  • Missed calls (“yes”/“no”) = automatic dot ball.

  • Change ends after losing a wicket.

Bowling

  • 1 point for dismissing a batter before the 5-minute mark.

  • If there are 2 bowling teams, both earn 1 point for dismissals.

  • 3 consecutive dot balls = 1 wicket lost.

  • No appeal = no wicket

Fielding

  • 5 small cones mark inner-ring fielders.

  • 1 tall cone marks the boundary fielder.

  • Only 1 field setting change per inning to save time.

  • “27 slips” are in play—just a fun tradition, no extra setup needed.

Special Rules

  • Dot balls reset after a wicket and carry into the next 4-ball batting set.

  • Controversial balls are replayed.

  • Free hits and bouncers at coach’s discretion.

  • After 2 consecutive dot balls, call Pressure Ball on Batters.

  • If a draw occurs, either accept it or play a deciding ball.

  • Play as many games as possible within the allocated time.
